When to use Windows Terminal

Windows Terminal is the right choice when you need a powerful, general-purpose terminal emulator. It supports multiple shell types, SSH connections, GPU-accelerated text rendering, and deep Windows integration. If you only run one or two Claude Code sessions and spend most of your time in other shells, Windows Terminal serves you well.

When to use Claude Launcher

Claude Launcher solves a specific problem: managing multiple Claude Code sessions efficiently. If you regularly run 3 or more sessions in parallel, lose track of which session is working on what, or need to resume sessions after a restart, Claude Launcher was built for you.

Can I use both?

Absolutely. Many developers use Windows Terminal for general shell tasks and Claude Launcher specifically for their Claude Code workflow. They complement each other well. Claude Launcher does not replace your terminal -- it gives Claude Code sessions the dedicated management layer they deserve.
